SPS-NUST-SEECS Course on IBM Tivoli Identity Manager
25th March 2008 to 29th May 2008

NUST Institute of IT has established a Linux Competency Center in partnership with IBM Pakistan with the aim of creating a resource pool of Linux, Open Source and IBM technology experts for government & non-government organizations. This center provides state-of-the-art IBM hardware and software resources of international standards with the focused goal of promoting Linux and IBM technologies, the fastest growing operating system/computing platform in the world and the biggest technology company in the world respectively.

A comprehensive course on IBM Tivoli Identity Manager (TIM), is being arranged at NUST Institute of IT from 25th March 2008 to 29th May 2008 . Tivoli Identity Manager provides a secure, automated, and policy-based software solution that helps effectively manage user privileges across organizations to better administer their IT infrastructure. This course will be very valuable for programmers, administrators and support personnel who need to understand the Tivoli Identity Manager framework which is the fastest growing solution of its kind with 18% growth in the last year alone. The course will be of 2 months duration and will be delivered by IBM-certified professionals in form of two 3 hour classes per week.

Course Contents

The Tivoli Identity Manager course will be composed of following modules:-

• Access Control & Organizational Tree
• Service Policies, User Policies, Existing Accounts
• Utilizing TIM
• TIM Organization and management
• TIM User Management
• Provisioning and Work Flow
• Life Cycle Management and Global Settings
• TIM APIs for extending TIM
